The seeds of Chiron were sown during the 1998 Balkans conflict when Chris Cobb-Smith started to support media news organisations as a consultant on military affairs. His unique knowledge proved invaluable enabling liaison with the all military factions and NGO's; he also provided security and logistic advice.
After Kosovo, Chris continued to work supporting various media companies in Israel, Macedonia and Nigeria. Then in 2000 Chris was asked to form a team to provide security for the BBC crews deployed to cover the May Day Protests in London. The team proved their worth and the concept of Chiron was born. On 2nd March 2001 Chiron become a Limited Company.
